A spate of ATM explosions has kept Austrian police busy for months across Vienna and other states. Since March 1, a dedicated task force has been investigating the series. According to the Federal Criminal Police, this was the 23rd case since January 1, 2025. No further details have been released pending the investigation.

On Monday, the Vienna Regional Criminal Court sentenced an accomplice to 24 months’ conditional imprisonment; she had rented getaway vehicles for the gang. On January 21, the same group detonated four ATMs in Liesing.
